Claude HIPAA Coverage Is Enterprise-Only — Team Plans Don't Count
Only an organization-signed HIPAA-ready Enterprise plan (or an API deployment under a BAA) is eligible for PHI workflows. Personal, Pro, Max, and Team accounts are not — no matter how your workplace plan is labeled.
ChatGPT Memory Feature Now Enabled by Default
If you have ever entered clinical content into ChatGPT on a personal, Plus, or Team account, the model may reference it in future conversations. Turn off memory and clear stored memories. Enterprise/Edu accounts default to memory off — one more reason organizational accounts beat personal ones for work use.
DeepSeek Stores All Data on Servers in China
Do not use DeepSeek for any clinical content, even de-identified. Data residency in China means it falls outside HIPAA and FERPA jurisdictional protections.
